Two dominant backs in Robert Evans and Andrew Trevino are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Rosamond Roadrunners will take on the Foothill Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Rosamond put up the most points they have all season on Thursday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 56-6 victory over Desert. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Roadrunners with their most commanding win of the season.

Rosamond's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marvin Alvarado, who rushed for 15 yards and one TD, and also threw for 80 yards and one touchdown on only seven passes. Alvarado's passing game has become a key predictor of the Roadrunners' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-6 otherwise.
Rosamond's run defense was locked in: Desert could only muster 2.4 yards per carry. While two picked up at least one total tackle, Joseph Brown stood above the rest. He made one tackle. Rosamond didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 19.5.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Rosamond, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jerimiah Rowens, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Foothill had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They strolled past the Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 44-28.
Foothill's win came from a few key players Rosamond will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ismael Ramirez, who threw for 170 yards and three TDs on only 14 passes. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Daniels, who picked up 44 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Rosamond's record now sits at 4-6. As for Foothill, their record is now 7-3.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Rosamond has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 171.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Foothill struggles in that department as they've been averaging 239.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Rosamond might still be hurting after the 54-30 loss they got from Foothill in their previous meeting back in September. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Trojans' Trevino, who rushed for 225 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry. Now that the Roadrunners know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
