Baseball Recap: Elmwood Park Has No Trouble Against Fenton

Elmwood Park came out on top against Fenton on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Bison. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Mathew Sutherland spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Elmwood Park is 4-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 3-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Leon Solarczyk was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Anthony Huaman, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Elmwood Park moved to 7-9 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Fenton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-20 record this season.

Elmwood Park will have a chance to go back-to-back against Fenton: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
