Recap: Albertville Aggies vs. Bob Jones Patriots
This season hasn't been kind to The Albertville Aggies, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They were outmatched by Bob Jones on the road and fell 51-6. Albertville has not had much luck with Bob Jones recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Cj Zuniga threw for 48 yards on eight of 15 attempts. On the ground, Jakari Kirkland rushed for 34 yards.
Bob Jones' win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caleb Sanders, who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. Malachi Foster also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Albertville's defeat was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 0-10. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-2 Austin and 7-2 Arab (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 67.1% over those games). As for Bob Jones, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Albertville will take on Guntersville at TBD on Friday. Guntersville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Albertville in Alabama (Guntersville is ranked 42nd, while Albertville is ranked 242nd). As for Bob Jones, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hartselle on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Ri Fletcher and Tyren Washington.
