Flag Football Recap: Northside Eagles vs. Warner Robins Demons

Northside came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against the Warner Robins Demons, falling 27-0. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Demons recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Even if they lost, Northside's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Mikaela Glover, Myriana Evans, and Alayna Holmes, who each picked up one sack apiece.

A big part of Warner Robins' victory came down to the chemistry between Joselyn Cassanova and her top target Kherington Johnson. Cassanova threw for 125 yards and four touchdowns on only nine passes while Johnson picked up 85 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Johnson also deserves a shoutout for her performance on D, making six total tackles and defending three passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Northside's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Warner Robins, their record is now 6-3.

Coming up, Northside will be playing at home against Veterans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Eagles 11.8, the Warhawks 14) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Warner Robins, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 13-0 win against Perry on the 30th.
