Basketball Recap: Johanna Haste Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat West Lafayette

The third road matchup was the charm for Faith Christian, as they earned their first away win of the season. They secured a 44-40 W over the West Lafayette Red Devils on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Faith Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Johanna Haste, who shot 40% from the field on her way to 23 points and eight steals. Haste has been hot recently, having posted five or more steals the last three times she's played. Gracyn Musick also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

West Lafayette lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Amaya St. Hilaire, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 14 boards. Another player making a difference was Cora Loveless, who posted eight points and 11 rebounds.

Faith Christian now has a winning record of 3-2. As for West Lafayette, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Faith Christian has already played their next contest, a 51-34 defeat against Rossville on the 6th. West Lafayette has also already played their next game (against Benton Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
