Football Recap: Fieldston Eagles vs. Hopkins Hilltoppers
Fieldston lost against Hopkins back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Eagles took a 20-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hilltoppers. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 427th in New York, while the Hilltoppers are ranked 143rd in Connecticut).

Despite the loss, Fieldston saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Maxwell Thompson rushed for 106 yards and one score on only seven carries, and also threw for 135 yards on 11 of 23 attempts. Those 106 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Thompson. Another big playmaker for Fieldston was Connor Wolfson, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed eight in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Wolfson, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
