Middletown's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lower Lake Trojans. The win was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their 11-game losing streak.

Middletown never let Lower Lake on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-23, 25-13.

Carly Johnson paced Middletown's offense, picking up nine kills. Johnson got some help from Bridget Lisenbee and her 11 assists. Samantha Maccario controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Middletown's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-14. As for Lower Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Middletown is set to take on their familiar foe Fort Bragg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Lower Lake will square off against rival St. Helena at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
