Centennial has gone a perfect 10-0 against Seguin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Spartans will be playing at home against the Cougars at 5:30 p.m. Centennial is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last nine games.

Brooke Mayner was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Ava Ellis, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Centennial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Seguin narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Everman 13-12. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won six in a row.
Ixchel Lincon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Leyla Flowers, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Dariana Martin was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Centennial's victory bumped their record up to 21-6-1. As for Seguin, their win bumped their record up to 10-13.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Centennial has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. However, it's not like Seguin struggles in that department as they've averaged .566. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Centennial was able to grind out a solid victory over Seguin when the teams last played back in March, winning 4-1. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
