Softball Recap: Remington Broncos vs. Council Grove Braves
Remington gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They skirted past the Council Grove Braves 4-3.
Cambree Lawler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 13 Ks.
On the hitting side, Remington let Kynzee Klaassen and Jozelynn Weerts run wild. Klaassen went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Weerts got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. Elena Bowling was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Council Grove is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
Remington will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Braves: the pair will be back at it again later today.
