Basketball Recap: Crane Find Success

Crane saw some tournament action on Saturday. They snuck past the Westbrook Wildcats with a 50-46 win.

When it comes to explaining why Westbrook lost, don't look at Jaxson Browne. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 16 boards. That was a full 37% of Westbrook's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Browne, who put up nine points along with six boards and four steals.

The victory got Crane back to even at 2-2. As for Westbrook, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crane and Lamesa will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Crane is facing Lamesa at the right time seeing as Lamesa is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. Westbrook will take on Aspermont in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
