Soccer Game Preview: Lakeland vs. Dunmore

Lakeland is 2-8 against Dunmore since October of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Chiefs will square off against the Bucks at 6:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Lakeland's offense. They fell 2-0 to Mountain View on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Lakeland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 509th, while Mountain View are ranked 116th).

Meanwhile, Dunmore came tearing into Saturday's contest with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Mountaineers a 1-0 shutout. That's two games straight that Dunmore have won by just one goal.

Lakeland's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Dunmore, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.

Lakeland suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Dunmore in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Chiefs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
