Recap: Tuscola Mountaineers vs. Andrews Wildcats
The Tuscola Mountaineers lost against the Andrews Wildcats last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Tuscola fell 54-42 to Andrews. Tuscola has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Tuscola had strong showings from Nora Jenkins, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Karsen Cherry, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds. Jenkins scored a full 33.3% of Tuscola's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Tuscola bumped their record down to 1-4 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.6 points per game. As for Andrews, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tuscola will face off against Enka at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Enka focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Friday. As for Andrews, they will head out on the road to face off against Nantahala at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nantahala is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
