Basketball Game Preview: Barron Golden Bears vs. Ashland Oredockers

The Barron Golden Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Ashland Oredockers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 67-30, which was the final score in Barron's tilt against Cameron on Tuesday. The contest marked the Golden Bears' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Ashland lost 48-28 to Spooner on Monday.

Barron has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Ashland, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9.

Barron took their victory against Ashland when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 71-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Barron since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
