League recap: Crowe throws longest pass in league this season for Southwest

Ethan Crowe and Derek Montgomery provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Northwest. The longest such play in Platte Valley (8 Man) this season, the connection resulted in 65 yards.

North Andrew extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Stewartsville, 60-0. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Cardinals.

Southwest's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Crowe threw for 229 and three touchdowns and Montgomery had 119 yards receiving. On the ground Crowe chipped in 254 yards. Mehrhoff Mason helped Southwest's passing attack out by catching four balls for 110 yards.

Southwest's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wildcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Crowe has thrown for 460 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Mason has seven catches for 196 yards. Crowe also leads the league in rushing with 853 yards.

The marquee game in Platte Valley (8 Man) this week will be the clash between the Cardinals and DeKalb. Stewartsville comes into the matchup ranked 20th in the state, while the Tigers ranks 11th.

Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Wildcats take on South Nodaway. Southwest's offense has scored 258 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Longhorns have allowed only 206 on the year.
