Volleyball Recap: Emerson Comes Up Short at Home Against Smackover

Emerson unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Smackover Buckaroos by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buckaroos apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Emerson will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lafayette County at 5:00 p.m. on September 9. As for Smackover, they will head out on the road to take on Hooks at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
