Baseball Game Preview: Kearsarge Cougars vs. Mascoma Royals

The Kearsarge Cougars will head out to take on the Mascoma Royals at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Kearsarge and nine for Mascoma dating back to last season.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Cougars on Wednesday. Kearsarge might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 13-4 to Derryfield, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Fall Mountain hit Mascoma with a seven-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Royals lost 13-3 to the Wildcats.

Nic Defelice was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Lucas Petty also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Kearsarge's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Mascoma, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Kearsarge might still be hurting after the 23-10 loss they got from Mascoma when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
