Basketball Recap: Apollo Hawks vs. Browne Bruins
Apollo won the last time they faced Browne and things went their way on Friday too. The Hawks blew past the Bruins 77-53. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Apollo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Demetrius Pink, who shot 64% from the field to rack up 22 points. Another player making a difference was Victor Vu, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 14 points.
Apollo was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Browne only posted five.
Browne's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Karmello Walker was another key player, going 6-for-12 to rack up 15 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Apollo's record is now 2-0. As for Browne, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Coming up, after both having extra time off, Apollo and Cibola will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on December 3. As for Browne, they have already played their next game, a 58-57 victory against Rancho Solano Prep on the 24th.
