Basketball Game Preview: Emmanuel Christian Crusaders vs. Christ the Cornerstone Academy Defenders

The Emmanuel Christian Crusaders will head out on the road to challenge the Christ the Cornerstone Academy Defenders at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Friday, Emmanuel Christian lost to Northside Christian School on the road by a 37-21 margin. The Crusaders were down 33-13 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Maddie Oliver put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted seven points along with six boards and six steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabbi Crowley, who put up four points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Emmanuel Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Christ the Cornerstone Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Mullins Marion Christian, falling 53-27.

Christ the Cornerstone Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Emmanuel Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
