Baseball Game Preview: Highland Hornets vs. Revere Minutemen

For the second straight game, Highland will face off against Revere. The Hornets will venture away from home to square off against the Minutemen at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Highland is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Ohio's top teams: Revere, who was ranked 18th at the time (Highland was ranked 11th). The Hornets were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Minutemen on Monday. That seven run margin sets a new team best for the Hornets this season.

Cooper Richnafsky spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Landon Sooy was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Casey Myser was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

Highland's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Revere, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2.
