Winning always takes teamwork, but on Thursday Averie Baird stepped things up a notch to give St. Maries the 'W'. Baird scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, which was good enough to set a new career-high in runs.

Baird's strong effort led St. Maries over Priest River and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lumberjacks are 7-1-1 against the Spartans going back to April of 2018, a lead they'll look to extend.
