Soccer Game Preview: Delaware County Christian vs. Marple Newtown

The Delaware County Christian Knights will square off against the Marple Newtown Fightin' Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Delaware County Christian will be strutting in after a win while Marple Newtown will be coming in after a defeat.

Delaware County Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Jenkintown with a sharp 4-1 victory. Considering Delaware County Christian have won nine contests by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, after soaring to nine goals the game before, Marple Newtown was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to Conestoga. While losing is never fun, Marple Newtown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while Conestoga are ranked 15th).

Delaware County Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 44 goals over those nine contests. As for Marple Newtown, they dropped their record down to 9-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
