The Lowndes Vikings will head out to challenge the North Gwinnett Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Lowndes is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 37-16 margin over Collins Hill.

Lowndes got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayce Johnson out in front who threw for 131 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 36 yards and one score. Lowndes better keep an eye on Kalil Mazone. He was instrumental in North Gwinnett's win, rushing for 89 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Elam Rahman, who threw for 183 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.

North Gwinnett didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jake Godfree, Marshall Brown, and Bryson Ford picked up one apiece. Ford is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as he's now defended at least one in each of the last ten games he's played.

Lowndes' record is now 10-1. As for North Gwinnett, their record now sits at an identical 10-1.

Lowndes took their victory against North Gwinnett in their previous matchup back in December of 2019 by a conclusive 49-28 score. In that matchup, the Vikings amassed a halftime lead of 42-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
