Baseball Recap: Geneva Triumphs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Geneva walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Central Rockets on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Noah Hallahan tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tate Beran, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Geneva's victory bumped their record up to 30-7. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-19-2.

Geneva didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-1 win against Belvidere North on the 3rd. Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
