Baseball Game Preview: Bendle Tigers vs. Atherton Wolverines

Bendle has gone 7-1 against Atherton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Wolverines at 4:30 p.m. Atherton took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Bendle, who comes in off a win.

Atherton will be up against a hot Bendle squad: the team just extended their winning streak to eight. Everything went the Tigers' way against Flint Southwestern Academy on Monday as they made off with a 22-1 victory.

Alex Rodriguez was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Rodriguez was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Bendle got a massive performance out of Ashton Rodriguez, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Those four runs gave Rodriguez a new career-high. Brandon Edwards was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with eight stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Atherton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Mt. Morris, falling 15-0.

Bendle was able to grind out a solid win over Atherton in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, winning 5-2. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
