Basketball Recap: Community School of Davidson Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Community School of Davidson unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by the Mooresville Blue Devils and fell 53-22. The Spartans were down 42-16 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Riley Parker was Community School of Davidson's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Ella Tomko held things down on the boards with nine rebounds.

Mooresville's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gia Lowe, who posted 13 points. That's the most points Lowe has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Neveah McCorkle, who earned 11 points.

Mooresville has already played their next game, a 53-30 loss against Hough on the 18th. Hopefully Community School of Davidson paid attention to the Blue Devils' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
