Basketball Recap: Newcastle's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Ten

Newcastle waltzed into their matchup on Friday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They claimed a resounding 64-21 win over the Woodson Cowboys. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 386th, while the Cowboys are ranked 1311th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Newcastle is also on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Woodson, their loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-12.

Coincidentally, Newcastle and Woodson will both be playing Throckmorton the next time they take the court. Newcastle will head out to face Throckmorton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Woodson will host them at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th.
