Softball Recap: West Caldwell Beats West Lincoln for Their Fourth Straight Win

West Caldwell hadn't done well against West Lincoln recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitcher stepped up to hand the Rebels a 2-0 shutout. The game was the first time the Warriors have beaten the Rebels on their field since May 5, 2023.

West Caldwell's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Daylann Patterson, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

The win (which was West Caldwell's fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for West Lincoln, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. West Caldwell is set to square off against their familiar foe Bandys at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Warriors have won 11 straight at home dating back to last season, while the Trojans won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Meanwhile, West Lincoln will take on rival East Burke at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
