Volleyball Game Preview: St. Joseph Academy Crusaders vs. Army-Navy Warriors

The St. Joseph Academy Crusaders will venture away from home to take on the Army-Navy Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

St. Joseph Academy is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Tri-City Christian just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to the Eagles. While the Crusaders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-19 in the first set.

St. Joseph Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Army-Navy played in-conference for the first time on Thursday and got just the result they were looking for. They had just enough and edged out Escondido Adventist Academy 3-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (100-90) Army-Navy actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-20, 25-18, 11-25, 15-12.

St. Joseph Academy's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-5. As for Army-Navy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
