Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Johnstown-Monroe

While Johnstown-Monroe didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Northridge Vikings on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Johnnies sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Landon Myers made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Myers was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Erik Marohl, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Braeden Archibald, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Johnstown-Monroe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Johnstown-Monroe's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Northridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johnstown-Monroe will venture away from home to square off against Watkins Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Johnnies' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Northridge, they will head out to take on Granville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Aces will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
