The West Holmes Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Medina Bees at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Holmes is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
West Holmes took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on St. Clairsville with a sharp 8-1 win.
Briar Cline made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over 6.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, Zalina Proper was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and one stolen base. That's the most triples she has posted since back in April of 2025. Trinity Ramseyer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, Medina hadn't done well against Brunswick recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Bees walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Blue Devils. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bees.
Like West Holmes, Medina also got a great game from a two-way player: Brooke Housum. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. Housum has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaite Rubino, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Hannah Neal, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
West Holmes' record is now 11-16. As for Medina, their record now sits at 16-6.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. West Holmes hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. However, it's not like Medina struggles in that department as they've averaged .387. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
