The Page Pirates will venture away from home to take on the Independence Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Page comes in on three and Independence on four.
Page is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand McDowell a 68-0 shutout. The Pirates' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Page to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jabari Johnson, who rushed for 122 yards and two scores on only nine carries. Those 122 rushing yards gave Johnson a new career-high. Kasai Poindexter also helped out with an impressive 90 receiving yards.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Page proved: they limited McDowell to a paltry 0.1 yards per carry. The team can thank Wyatt 'Wade' Harty for the heroic effort on defense: he. Page didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 14.2.
Page's defense didn't let Danny Charles Brown, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Justin Dockery, Preston Burnette, and Aedyn Buchanan, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Meanwhile, Independence won against North Mecklenburg back in October with 41 points and they decided to stick to that point total again two weeks ago. The Patriots breezed past Butler to the tune of 41-7. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Patriots just coasted through the last quarter.
Independence's win came from a few key players Page will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jayden Jones, who rushed for 157 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also picked up 68 receiving yards and one TD. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jared Street Jr was another key player, throwing for 233 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt.
Page's record is now 8-3. As for Independence, their record now sits at 8-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Page has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 159.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Independence struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 225.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Page took a serious blow against Independence in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 41-13. Thankfully for the Pirates, Justin Little (who threw for 360 yards and three touchdowns while completing 82.6% of his passes, and also punched in a pair of scores on the ground) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
