Volleyball Recap: Lawrence Central Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Lawrence Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Park Tudor Panthers by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Bears, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-27, 25-14, 25-12.

Karis Barnes paced Lawrence Central's offense, picking up 13 kills. Barnes got some help from Dahniya Twyman and her 15 assists. Rachel Filimoeulie and Ryla Arila kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Park Tudor lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Layla Trammel, who had 11 digs and two assists.

With the win, Lawrence Central broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 12-16. As for Park Tudor, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-11.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After both having extra time off, Lawrence Central and North Central will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 11:00 a.m. on the 18th. As for Park Tudor, they will face off against Monrovia at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
