Soccer Game Preview: Springport vs. Quincy

The Springport Spartans will challenge the Quincy Orioles at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Springport's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Springport managed to slip by Northwest the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Spartans lost 4-0 to the Mounties on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Quincy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Panthers.

Quincy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four games. As for Springport, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3-1.
