Basketball Recap: Community Christian Piles Up the Points Against Columbus Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Community Christian). They took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging a 78-32 victory over the Columbus Christian Crusaders. With the Eagles ahead 42-15 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Community Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Clayton Pitcher, who posted 11 points and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Fagan, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

The win (which was Community Christian's fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.4 points per game. As for Columbus Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Community Christian will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Northside L at 2:30 p.m. on January 11, 2025. As for Columbus Christian, they will venture away from home to take on Eminence at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
