Baseball Recap: Churubusco Takes a Loss

If Churubusco was feeling good fresh off their 11-2 takedown of Fremont on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell 7-2 to the Lakeland Lakers on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Lakers: they've now lost five in a row.

Churubusco saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Lawrence, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Churubusco now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Lakeland, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-5.

Coming up, Churubusco is taking a road trip to face off against Adams Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakeland, they will be taking part in a tournament against Glenn at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
