Baseball Game Preview: Wilson Central Wildcats vs. Rockvale

The Wilson Central Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against Rockvale at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wilson Central will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Wilson Central barely beat Franklin County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats blew past the Rebels 10-4 on Friday. Considering the Wildcats have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Rockvale and Oakland, and Oakland kept the tradition alive. Rockvale fell just short of Oakland by a score of 3-2 on Friday.

Wilson Central pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Rockvale, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Wilson Central couldn't quite finish off Rockvale in their previous meeting back in March of 2022 and fell 4-2. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
