A Season-Best Performance from Kreyton Wiese Leads Wauneta-Palisade over Southwest

On Friday, Wauneta-Palisade had to settle for second even though Kreyton Wiese put up the best numbers he has all season. Wiese rushed for 253 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (114.8). Wauneta-Palisade is 2-1 when Wiese posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise.

Wauneta-Palisade is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. Wiese and Wauneta-Palisade will square off against Wallace at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

Maddox Jones and Co. Win 18th in a Row

Sumner-Eddyville-Miller picked up their 18th consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Maddox Jones. Jones was dynamite, rushing for 103 yards and four touchdowns on only eight carries.

Paxton had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Jones it was a similar story. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Jones saw the Tigers), he rushed for 142 yards and four touchdowns.

Southwest took down Wauneta-Palisade on Friday, a win that might not have happened without Jacob Barber's effort. Nobody could stop Barber as he rushed for 64 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 94 receiving yards.

On the season, Barber has averaged 33.8 receiving yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after six games last season, he was only averaging 5.67 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 77.5 rushing yards.

Jordan Scoville's Big Game Leads Sumner-Eddyville-Miller over Paxton

Jordan Scoville was instrumental in extending Sumner-Eddyville-Miller's winning streak to 18 on Friday. Scoville was dynamite, rushing for 172 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 51 yards.

Paxton had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Scoville it was a similar story. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Scoville saw the Tigers), he rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.

Billeter Came Up Big in Southwest's 41-39 Win

The second Southwest player making an appearance here is Houston Billeter, and for good reason. He threw for 303 yards and three touchdowns. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last six games he's played dating back to last season.

Billeter and Southwest will take on Sumner-Eddyville-Miller at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will pit Billeter up against the Mustangs' star quarterback Chance Daake. With so much talent on the field, fans are surely in for an exciting game. The only thing left to see is who brings home the W.
