Volleyball Recap: Nine Straight Home Wins for Smith Vo-Tech

It's playoff time, and Smith Vo-Tech had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Norfolk County Agricultural Rams on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 two weeks ago.

Smith Vo-Tech had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-18.

Norfolk County Agricultural's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Shivonya Scott, who had eight digs and two aces, and Danika Doherty, who had five digs and three aces. Scott is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last six games she's played. Sarah Mullen also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Smith Vo-Tech's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. As for Norfolk County Agricultural, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.

Coming up, Smith Vo-Tech will take on Madison Park RVT on Friday. Norfolk County Agricultural does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
