Basketball Game Preview: Carroll County Panthers vs. Williamstown Demons

The Carroll County Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Williamstown Demons at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Saturday, Carroll County took a blow against Valley, falling 75-22. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Vikings are ranked 127th).

Meanwhile, Williamstown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were outmatched by Owen County and fell 81-45.

Williamstown's loss dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Carroll County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Carroll County was able to grind out a solid victory over Williamstown when the teams last played back in January, winning 58-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carroll County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
