Baseball Game Preview: Valwood Valiants vs. Deerfield-Windsor Knights

The Valwood Valiants will venture away from home to face off against the Deerfield-Windsor Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Valwood will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Valwood will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Brookwood, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Valiants blew past the Warriors 9-2 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Valiants, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Triston White and Dax Womack did most of the damage at the plate: White went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Womack went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That home run was White's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Maddox Coile, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Deerfield-Windsor suffered their closest defeat since April 29, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of Southwest Georgia Academy by a score of 4-2.

Deerfield-Windsor's loss dropped their record down to 13-5-1. As for Valwood, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.

Valwood was able to grind out a solid win over Deerfield-Windsor in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 6-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Valiants since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
