Football Recap: Cypress Falls Eagles vs. Clear Falls Knights
Cypress Falls lost against Clear Falls back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles fell 51-44 to the Knights. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gabriel Wilson, who picked up 65 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 46 yards. Another pass catcher making a difference was Catrell Love, who picked up 90 receiving yards and one touchdown.
A big part of Clear Falls' win came down to the chemistry between Kyden Barker and his top target Zach Greer. Barker threw for 375 yards and six TDs while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt while Greer picked up 193 receiving yards and four scores. Greer really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 73 yards. Ocean Chapa helped Barker out on the ground, rushing for 84 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.
Cypress Falls now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Clear Falls, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Cypress Falls will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. This will be the Eagles' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Clear Falls, they are taking a road trip to challenge Deer Park at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,007 yards in their previous games.
