Football Recap: Marcus Johnson and Coran Eley Pace O'connor Defense + How To Watch

O'Connor and Higley squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but O'Connor had to settle for second. They fell 26-17 to the Knights.

Although O'Connor took the loss, they still got scores from Jaxon Simons and Marcus Johnson.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed 11 in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Simons, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

O'Connor didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Johnson and Coran Eley. Johnson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Higley can attribute much of their success to Gunner Fagrell, who rushed for 81 yards and one TD on only eight carries, and also threw for 158 yards and one touchdown while completing 77.8% of his passes. Those 81 rushing yards gave Fagrell a new career-high. Daniel Zubey was another key player, picking up 88 receiving yards and one score.

O'Connor's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Higley, their record is now 7-4.

O'Connor does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Higley, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 39-34 loss against Casteel on the 21st.
