Football Recap: Chase Boone Key Part of Team Effort in Red Devils Win

There's no place like home for Red Springs, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on the Fairmont Golden Tornadoes with a sharp 28-8 win on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Red Devils, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Red Springs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chase Boone led the charge by throwing for 253 yards and two TDs while completing 73.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 31 yards. Raymond Blue Jr helped out on the ground, rushing for 101 yards and a rushing touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Red Springs was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 241 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Fairmont lost, don't look at Jamarion Brown. Despite the final result, he rushed for 93 yards on only 13 carries, and also threw for 143 yards on 12 of 26 attempts.

Red Springs' record now sits at 4-6. As for Fairmont, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Looking ahead, Red Springs will challenge Jordan-Matthews at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
