Volleyball Recap: Manual Arts Toilers vs. Jefferson Democrats
Manual Arts lost against Jefferson back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Toilers fell 3-1 to the Democrats. The Toilers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Jefferson scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 20-25, 25-20, 25-20.
Isabel Renoj paced Manual Arts' offense, picking up seven kills. Renoj got some help from Nataly Guevara and her six assists. Guevara also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Allyn Macedo, each putting up four.
Manual Arts' defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Jefferson, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.
