Basketball Recap: Veritas Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Meyer last Saturday, Veritas Academy came back down to earth. Veritas Academy had to suffer through a 80-32 loss at the hands of the Hill Country Christian School of Austin Knights. While losing is never fun, Veritas Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 928th, while Hill Country Christian School of Austin is ranked 448th).

Veritas Academy's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-9. As for Hill Country Christian School of Austin, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Veritas Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Brazos Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 14th. As for Hill Country Christian School of Austin, they will venture away from home to take on Texas School for the Deaf at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hill Country Christian School of Austin has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
