Volleyball Recap: Liyah Dixon Key Part of Team Effort in Wildcats Win

There's no place like home for Lawrence County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Golden Eagles: they've now won nine in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-17, 25-10.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lawrence County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Liyah Dixon, who had 16 kills and two aces. Dixon is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaci Shultz, who had 14 assists and five aces.

Lawrence County's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Shelbyville Central, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Coming up, Lawrence County will take on Coffee County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shelbyville Central, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Smyrna on the 5th.
