Recap: Platte Canyon Huskies vs. Fort Lupton Bluedevils

Winning is just a little bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 95% better than the opposition, a fact the Platte Canyon Huskies proved on Saturday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 37-9 win over Fort Lupton. That 28 points margin sets a new team best for Platte Canyon this season.

Liza Lineberry was the offensive standout of the match as she scored nine points along with 11 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Curtis, who scored ten points along with two steals.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Fort Lupton struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Platte Canyon pushed their record up to 6-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Fort Lupton, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Platte Canyon will square off against Bennett at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fort Lupton will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Middle Park at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Middle Park will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
