Basketball Game Preview: Vero Beach Indians vs. Okeechobee Brahmans

Vero Beach and Okeechobee are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. Both will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vero Beach will be strutting in after a win while Okeechobee will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Vero Beach turned things around against Sebastian River on Friday. They walked away with a 59-47 victory over the Sharks.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Okeechobee's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 49-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Treasure Coast. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Brahmans came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Titans are ranked 221st).

Okeechobee's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-2. As for Vero Beach, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Vero Beach didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Okeechobee in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 55-51 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vero Beach since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
