Basketball Recap: Montbello Comes Up Short

Montbello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. The matchup between them and the Lincoln Lancers didn't end well, with the Montbello Warriors falling 61-45.

Lincoln's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dechon Traylor led the charge by going 8-for-18 en route to 19 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave Traylor a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adeshina Alassani, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 17 rebounds.

Montbello's loss dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Lincoln, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-14.

Looking ahead, Montbello won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against KIPP Denver Collegiate at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Montbello is facing KIPP Denver Collegiate at the right time seeing as KIPP Denver Collegiate is stuck on a 16-game losing streak. As for Lincoln, they and Kennedy will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Lincoln has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
