Stone had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.4 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 35-21 win over the East Central Hornets. The Tomcats pushed the score to 35-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hornets cut but never quite recovered from.

Fairley rushed for 118 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries while Green gained 109 total yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Fairley a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Another player making a difference was Zander Howard, who rushed for 59 yards.

Stone was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 297 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Stone's defense made their presence known, laying out Maddox Dunn four times. East Central's QB won't forget Colton Ladner anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Ladner has been hot recently, having also posted eight or more total tackles the last four times he's played.

East Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaron Myrick, who picked up 102 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 61 yards on only six carries. Hayden Fowler was in the mix too, providing the Hornets with two scores.

Stone's record now sits at 7-3. As for East Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.

Stone will host Sumrall at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. East Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
